Complete Thyroid Panel
Full thyroid function including free fractions and thyroid antibodies for complete evaluation.
Blood draw
48 hrs
Physician-reviewed
What this panel measures
- TSH — the pituitary signal that regulates the thyroid
- Free T4 and Free T3 — the active thyroid hormones actually available to cells
- Thyroid peroxidase (TPO) antibodies and anti-thyroglobulin antibodies — autoimmune markers
Why providers order it
- Fatigue, weight change, hair loss, cold or heat intolerance
- Irregular cycles, fertility evaluation, or pregnancy planning
- Screening for Hashimoto's thyroiditis and other autoimmune thyroid disease
- Monitoring thyroid medication dosage
No fasting required. Morning draws are preferred because TSH shifts through the day. If you take thyroid medication, draw before your daily dose and note the timing.
Complete Thyroid Panel: frequently asked questions
Why test Free T3 and antibodies instead of just TSH?
TSH alone misses a significant share of thyroid dysfunction. Free T3 and Free T4 show the hormone levels your cells actually receive, and antibody testing identifies autoimmune disease — the most common cause of thyroid problems — years before TSH drifts out of range.
What are TPO antibodies?
They are immune markers that attack the thyroid enzyme thyroid peroxidase. Their presence suggests Hashimoto's thyroiditis, which is managed with monitoring and, when needed, medication.
How long do thyroid panel results take?
Complete thyroid panel results are typically reported within 48 hours and physician-reviewed before release.
