Ordering & getting tested
Do I need a doctor's order to get lab testing at Cadence Laboratories?
No. Patients can select and schedule panels directly through our Schedule Testing flow and pay transparent cash prices. A requisition from your provider is welcome but not required. If you're unsure which tests you need, our guided symptom tool or a free consultation with our lab team will point you to the right panels.
How do I schedule a blood draw at Cadence?
Use the Schedule Testing flow on this site: pick your tests, choose a date and time, and pay securely online. You'll choose between visiting a patient service center and a mobile draw. Most collections take under ten minutes.
What should I bring to my lab appointment?
Bring a photo ID, your insurance card if your test is provider-ordered, and a requisition from your provider if you have one. For self-selected panels booked through this site, your booking confirmation is all we need.
Results & turnaround
How fast will I get my lab results?
Most blood panels are reported within 24–48 hours of collection. Specialized testing — comprehensive stool analysis, omega-3 index, and heavy metals — runs 5–7 days. Every result is reviewed by a physician before release.
How will I receive my results?
Results are delivered digitally through our results portal as soon as they are physician-reviewed. With your permission, we can also share them directly with your provider so nothing gets lost between visits.
Are Cadence results reviewed by a physician?
Yes. Every result released through Cadence Laboratories is reviewed by a physician before it reaches you. Values outside reference ranges are flagged so you and your provider can follow up quickly.
Preparing for your test
Do I need to fast before my blood test?
It depends on the panel. Fasting 8–12 hours is recommended for glucose and lipid testing; water and usual medications are fine. Thyroid, hormone, and most other panels require no fasting. Every panel page in our test catalog lists its specific preparation.
Should I take my medications before the draw?
Take medications as usual unless your provider tells you otherwise. Two exceptions worth noting: thyroid medication is best drawn before your daily dose, and PPIs (like omeprazole) can interfere with H. pylori testing — check the panel page or ask our team.
Do I need to keep eating gluten before celiac testing?
Yes. Celiac antibodies only appear in response to ongoing gluten exposure, so going gluten-free before testing can produce a falsely negative result. Keep a normal, gluten-containing diet for several weeks before the draw.

What does lab testing cost at Cadence Laboratories?
We publish transparent patient cash prices for every test — you'll see the exact total for your selections before you pay at scheduling. There are no surprise facility fees or hidden add-ons.
Do you accept insurance?
Self-selected panels booked through this site are flat patient cash prices. Tests ordered by your provider can be billed through insurance via the ordering workflow — your provider's office submits the order through our portal and billing follows your plan's coverage. Our consultation team can help you understand which route fits your situation.
Can I pay for my lab tests online?
Yes. Schedule Testing includes secure online checkout — select your tests, choose your appointment time, and pay in one flow. Your selections and appointment are confirmed once payment completes.

Providers order through the Cadence Provider Portal — our secure ordering system handles requisitions, patient scheduling, billing, and results delivery in one place. Your account representative can set up access for your practice in minutes.
Does Cadence build custom panels for specialty practices?
Yes. Alongside our standard catalog, we operate six specialty provider programs with dedicated panel sets, reporting formats, and turnaround commitments — and we build custom panel sets for emerging practice models like functional medicine, addiction treatment, and longevity clinics.
What turnaround can my patients expect?
